The main area of activity of the IFAL Laboratory in Brindisi, is linked to the innovation of food production and transformation processes. In particular, the research and development activities in the Brindisi CR are oriented towards improving product shelf-life and reducing food waste through the development of mild technologies for the production of biomaterials and the development of innovative packaging created both with the aid of 3D printing and with electrospinning systems and which use useful biomolecules extracted from wastewater from agri-food chains for the purpose of better food preservation, with a view to circularity and a healthy, safe and balanced diet.
